Yes. Designing your app and putting a shareable web preview online are free. The optional paid services are long-term hosting and publishing to the app stores — you choose those only if you want them.
The installed Android and iOS apps work fully offline — the whole Bible lives on the phone, so they read with no connection at all. The web app needs the internet the first time it's opened; after a visitor taps “Add to Home Screen,” it stores the text and reads offline too — though a phone browser may need an occasional reconnect. For dependable always-offline use, install the app.
Android: we build a ready-to-publish app and you can upload it to Google Play (a one-time $25 Google account, yours), or we'll submit it for you as a paid service. iOS: Apple only allows iPhone/iPad apps through the App Store — there's no free iOS preview. We can prepare and submit it for you (paid), and an Apple Developer account ($99/year, yours) is required.
Your free web preview stays online for about two weeks, then comes down. Nothing is lost — you keep your downloaded files (web app + Android app + guides) and can self-host them anywhere, or start paid hosting with us anytime.
You do. The app is branded by your organization, not by Straight Truth Press, and your readers' notes and highlights stay on their own devices — we don't collect them.
No. You design everything in your browser with a live preview, and we build it. If you choose to host it yourself, your download includes plain-English, step-by-step instructions.
